There are a lot of fake makeup products around and it’s getting harder and harder by the day to distinguish between what’s real and what’s not.

Everyone likes a bargain, but sometimes things really are too good to be true!

Here are a few things to keep an eye out for:

  1. A fake will of course be a lot cheaper (which is tempting of course).
  2. The packaging and fonts will differ from the original products. Counterfeit items will have uneven fonts, misspelled words and incorrect shade names printed.
  3. Do your research and compare your purchases to authentic products online. Fake products are often kept in lower-quality plastic or metal casings, with ill-fitting mirrors.
  4. If you’re still not sure we would suggest contacting the Makeup Company directly, and send them all the details including a picture of the barcode and packaging.

There are a lot of cheap knockoff products that are produced around the globe. Some of them are kind of fun, like knockoffs of expensive purses that you could not otherwise afford on your salary and fake watches that look almost like the real thing. When it comes to products that you put on your skin, however, you need to be extra careful.

Reports are coming in from worldwide news outlets warning consumers about counterfeit makeup and the dangers they bring. The biggest problem is the ingredients in the makeup and perfume. Some of the ingredients are dangerous, some are unsanitary, and others are just plain gross.

These counterfeit products are turning up everywhere. They are especially prevalent online where people, looking for a bargain, will buy the counterfeits thinking they are the real thing. They buy the items for themselves or gift them to unwitting friends and family, never knowing about the dangers of fake makeup and perfume.

These fake products can also be found at flea markets and even in mall kiosks. Homeland Security recommends that consumers read the labels of everything we buy. Sometimes there are misspellings on knockoffs. Other times, the label font might be off or you can feel the lower quality of the product’s packaging. Most of all, if the price is too good to be true, it probably is a fake.

You can find loads of literature on fake products on various website including this one https://www.thetalko.com/13-terrifying-dangers-of-counterfeit-makeup/
